Weekly Thought (week of 1-30-2012)

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise."

Proverbs 12:15

Think about it!

Aren't you glad that God saved you from yourself? Aren't you glad to have the Lord as the head of your life?

Before you came to the Lord, you used to be involved in all kinds of stupid, foolish things...wild orgies, drugs, gambling, stealing, thug living, etc. When you were doing those things, they seemed to be the right thing to do. You probably said "Hey, everyone is doing it, so it must be the right thing." Or "I wanna be like everybody else." Or "I don't wanna look like a sucka or a punk." Or "If it feels good, then I know it's the right thing." Or "Hey, I got my own way of dealing with stuff -- besides I ain't hurting nobody, right?" When you came to your senses and accepted the Lord as your personal Savior, He opened your eyes to the plain truth...that you were wrong and that you needed Him to clean you up. You needed Him to cleanse you of your sins and teach you the right way.

We spent so much of our lives doing things our way, but thank God that we can walk in righteousness now. Thank the Lord for straightening us out and thank Lord for being so patient & putting up with our foolishness. Yes, AMAZING GRACE - HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME. I ONCE WAS LOST, BUT NOW I'M FOUND. I ONCE WAS BLIND, BUT NOW I SEE!

Remember: If something feels good or seems good, it doesn't always mean that it's good for you. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in everything that you do.

God bless!
