Weekly Thought (week of 4-15-2024) [PART 2]

"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

James 4:3 (KJV)

Think about it!

The NIV version of James 4:3 states "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

When we go before God and ask Him for things in prayer, let us remember to be direct in our prayers. Let us say exactly what we are praying for when we speak to God. People ask and do not receive things from God because the prayer is not directed at the exact issue or situation that we are saying. Let us be bold enough to say exactly what we are experiencing (whether it is in our minds, in our bodies, in our neighborhood, in our homes or at our jobs). Let us pray in complete faith...let us not be wishy-washy! A double-minded man will never get what he wants.

Also, let us not ask for things that we know that are not in God's will. God's will is for us to be healed, but His will does not include you winning the lottery, winning a bet on a horse race or beating up your neighbor. His will does not include invocating curses on someone at your job. People ask for things thinking that God is a genie, and He is not. Let's not fall for this prosperity gospel scams that are seen on TV. People use God to see if they can get more money just to get more stuff -- that is not of God! Let us be mindful to ask God for those things that line up with His will.

God bless!

SPECIAL MESSAGE TO NON-BELIEVERS

HOW TO GO TO HEAVEN?

If you had died the minute you started to read this invitation, would you have the assurance that you would go to heaven?

The Bible says there are 4 things a person must do to go to heaven:

1. REALIZE YOU ARE A SINNER. The Bible says "All have sinned, all fall short of God's glorious standard" (Romans 3:23 NLT)

2. RECOGNIZE JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU. The Bible tells us that "God showed his great love for us
by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners". (Romans 5:8 NLT)

3. REPENT OF YOUR SIN. The Bible says, "Now turn from your sins and turn to God, so you can be cleansed of your sins". (Acts 3:19 NLT)

4. RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR LIFE. The Bible tells us, "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved". (Romans 10:13 NLT)

Receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior is the next step in your spiritual journey. IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE THIS YET, WHY NOT TAKE A MOMENT
RIGHT NOW AND MAKE THAT COMMITMENT?

Remember, TOMORROW is ***NOT*** guaranteed!!
